While on patrol, Ofc. Robert Gerrish of the St. Johnsbury Police Department observed a motor vehicle violation on Pleasant Street.

Subsequent investigation revealed the operator of that motor vehicle, Mr. Chad R. Pelkey, was driving on a criminally suspended license.

Pelkey was arrested, processed and cited into Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division on January 27, 2020 for the above violation.

Summary of Incident:

While on patrol, Ofc. Gerrish of the St. Johnsbury Police Department observed a motor vehicle violation on Tremont Street. The vehicle was stopped. A vehicle occupant was found to be in possession of a loaded 45 caliber Rock Island 1911 firearm which had been reported to be stolen from a home in New Hampshire. The firearm was seized. Perry was arrested, processed and cited into Caledonia County Superior Court to answer the charge of Possession of Stolen Property. Perry’s appearance is set for February 24, 2020. The investigation is ongoing.
