0n 11/11/2023 at 2236 hours Deputy Deos and I, were on patrol and observed Albert Vieira at the St. Johnsbury Bike Path Pavilion located at 195 Bay Street in St. Johnsbury. At this time Albert had an active Warrant for his arrest. Upon us driving up to the pavilion Albert quickly walked away. We drove next to Albert and upon being asked for his name Albert then ran. Deputy Deos chased him on foot as he fled. I drove ahead of him to cut him off and exited the cruiser. As I exited the cruiser Albert then turned and ran back the way he came (toward Deputy Deos who was still in pursuit) but soon tripped in the darkness. After a short struggle, Deputy Deos and I took Albert into custody. On Albert's person was 80 baggies containing powder which later a sample of field tested positive as fentanyl. Albert was taken into custody, lodged on his warrant, and cited for new charges of Fentanyl Trafficking.
