SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: ON January 19, 2022 officers of the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to the Fairbanks Inn on Western Avenue in St Johnsbury after a reported robbery was called in. The victims reported a female, and two males entered the room and assaulted one of the occupants with a firearm and stole property from both occupants. The ensuing investigation has led to the arrest of Daviel Rivera, 38 of Springfield MA for the charges of Assault and Robbery, Larceny from the person and two counts of Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Rivera was cited to appear on November 7, 2022 in Caledonia Superior Court for the new charges. Rivera is currently held at the Northwest Correctional facility in St Albans on drug charges in Chittenden County and a warrant from Washington County.
