SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Police came upon a vehicle stuck in a snowbank at the intersection of Pearl Street and Eastern Avenue.  The operator, Chakeshia Tyson, stated she attempted to turn right onto Pearl Street while traveling down Eastern Avenue and slid off the road into the snowbank.  The vehicle struck a sign and  sustained damage to the front and driver’s side front fender.  No injuries were reported.  Icy road conditions contributed to the crash.  Tyson’s license to operate was under suspension; she was ticketed and the vehicle was towed by Caledonia Wrecker Service.

Summary of Incident

On 02-12-18 at approximately 0426 am the St Johnsbury Dispatch Center received an alarm activation at 12 North Avenue the home of The American Legion Post 58. An officer responded to the alarm and found the exterior door to the building ajar. Initial investigation revealed no entry had been made to the building as the interior door to the Legion was found to be secure. When an employee arrived later in the day she found that entry had been made into the building through a side window. Sgt Bickford arrived and discovered that a glass jar containing quarters that had been placed on the table along the bar area had been taken along with two sets of custom competition throwing darts. SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Police responded to the Republican Block Apartments on Eastern Avenue for the report of a female being disorderly and ripping items from the wall.  Upon arrival, witnesses described a chaotic incident in which Shari Hitman, upset about her ex-boyfriend being with a new girlfriend, ripped posters and pictures from a common area wall and threw food out of a refrigerator around an apartment.  Hitman allegedly “hip-checked” the new girlfriend during the episode, but no injuries were reported.  Subsequent investigation revealed Hitman had repeatedly called and texted a phone, even after the owner of the phone asked Hitman to stop and even blocked Hitman’s phone number.
Hitman was cited for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace by electronic means.
