SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On July 24, 2022 at 2206 hours, the St. Johnsbury Police Department received a Be-On-The-Lookout report from the Vermont State Police for an erratically operated vehicle with possible impairment. A St. Johnsbury Police Department patrol officer observed the vehicle on Hastings Hill and stopped it. Further investigation revealed the operator was displaying signs of impairment by a substance other than alcohol. Valerie Lyon was arrested for suspicion of DUI #1 (Drugs). A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation was obtained with assistance from the Vermont State Police and an evidentiary blood draw occurred. Lyon was cited into Caledonia Superior Court with an arraignment date of October 17, 2022 at 0830 hours. The vehicle in question was hauled away by B&B Towing of Lyndonville.
