SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: ON September 6, 2021 officers of the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to Cote Court for a report of gunshots. The ensuing investigation led to the determination that a young male had been assault and was gone from the scene on the arrival of police. Police were called back to the scene again shortly after midnight when the victim returned. And was subsequently treated at NVRH for injuries. ON September 7, 2021 Sgt Lester Cleary was contacted by the Vermont State Police and learned that another identical assault had occurred that same evening, after the incident in St Johnsbury. Detectives form the Vermont State Police worked cooperatively with the St Johnsbury Police in this investigation in locating the suspect known as “[EXPUNGED]”. Through the investigation “[EXPUNGED] “ was located and taken into custody. “[EXPUNGED]” was identified as [EXPUNGED], of Bridgeport CT. At the time of [EXPUNGED]’s arrest, Kyle Goodell, 23 of Waterford and Vincent Schwab, 38 of St Johnsbury were also taken into custody. [EXPUNGED] was charged with burglary, Aggravated assault and possessing Deadly weapons in the commission of a felony, Goodell was charged with Aiding in the commission of a felony and Burglary and Schwab was charged with Accessory after the fact. [EXPUNGED] was lodged at the NERCF on 30,000 dollars bail concurrent with bail set in the Vermont State Police Case and Goodell was lodged on 1000 dollars unsecured bail. Schwab was cited to appear on October 4, 2021. [EXPUNGED] and Goodell will appear in Caledonia Superior court on September 14 at 1230 hours.
