SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On September 16, 2021, officers of the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at the East Garden Chinese Restaurant in St Johnsbury. The suspect was described as trying to enter the register drawer until caught by the owner. The suspect then fled but not before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the tip jar on the counter. No weapons were reported to have been used in this robbery. The suspect is described as approximately 5’7 to 5’9” in height, wearing jeans, a dark colored tee shirt and a mask. Further details will be released pending receipt of surveillance video. No threat to the public safety is determined at this time.
