SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On March 12, 2022 at about 2313 hours, a St. Johnsbury Police Department patrol officer observed a motor vehicle violation at the intersection of Main Street and Western Avenue. The vehicle was stopped after it turned onto the St. Johnsbury Academy campus. The operator, Brendan Hughes (28), displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Hughes was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Hughes was brought back to the police department where he refused to provide an evidentiary breath sample. Hughes was released on a citation into Caledonia Superior Court with a Court Date of March 28, 2022 at 0830 hours.
