SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On March 26, 2022 at about 2356 hours, a St. Johnsbury Police Department patrol officer observed a motor vehicle equipment violation on Railroad Street. The vehicle was stopped on Railroad Street. Further investigation revealed that the operator was found to be displaying signs of impairment due to a substance other than alcohol. The operator, Kaitlin Cushman, was arrested for suspicion of DUI (Drugs). A Drug Recognition Expert exam was obtained with the assistance of the Vermont State Police and Cushman submitted to an evidentiary blood draw. Cushman was released from the St. Johnsbury Police Department on a citation into Caledonia Superior Court with a court date of June 27, 2022 at 0830 hours. Cushman was released to a sober adult.
