SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 07-14-23 at approximately 1000 hours Lt Mark Bickford of the SJPD was dispatched to 80 Saint Mary Street after Chadwick Roy had called reporting somebody had broken into an apartment at his building. Roy advised that the apartment of Garand had been entered through a window sometime during the night. Garand wasn't in town and I was unable to speak with him immediately about what if anything was missing. A search of the apartment was done without finding anyone inside.

During the investigation Lt Bickford received a couple of leads which were followed up on. With the aid of these leads he was able to determine that Gary Bolton and Kerri Ann Johnson had broken into the building and stayed in the apartment of Garand the previous evening. Further investigation found that damage had been caused within the apartment by the two, and items from a safe belonging to Garand were taken.

Lt Bickford arrested Bolton later during his shift after he was found at the bike pavilion on Bay Street. He was subsequently taken to and lodged at the NERCF on $5000 dollars bail where he will remain until either posting bail or released after his court appointed arraignment on 07-17-23 @ 1230 PM. Johnson was located by Bickford after she tried to sell some items belonging to Garand. She was processed and released on a citation to appear in court on 08-28-23 @1230 pm during which time she will answer to the charges listed above.
