On 03/21/2018, I was contacted by Family Dollar Store in St. Johnsbury advising on the Evening of 03/20 a female came into the store and made a purchase. At the end of that purchase the female asked for change for a hundred dollar bill. At the end of the transaction the female left the store with the change and the hundred dollar bill. I obtained store video of the incident and released photos from that video to the local media, and the St. Johnsbury Police Department press release page. The photos were reposted to the Caledonian Record Facebook page. Almost immediately we received calls and messages identifying the female. On 04/05/2018, Renae E. Ross 29 of St. Johnsbury came into the PD and advised she was the person in the photos. Ross was cited to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on 05/14/2018 to answer to the charge of Petit Larceny.

While checking out with their items the female asked the clerk for change showing her a hundred dollar bill. The female is then seen putting the hundred back into her wallet and then accepting the change from the clerk. SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  At 2143 hours, a motor vehicle was stopped on Railroad Street in St Johnsbury after violating the village ordinance for excessive motor vehicle noise.  The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Cameron Dwinell, 18 of Lyndonville for DUI, as well as his three juvenile passengers being issued Diversion paperwork for being minors who had consumed alcohol.  Dwinell was cited to appear on April 16, 2018 to answer the charge.
