Further investigation revealed a passenger in the vehicle was out and about in violation of a court ordered curfew, had consumed or possessed alcohol in contravention of court ordered conditions of release and was traveling in the company of a female he was required to not be within 300 feet of or have contact with. [EXPUNGED] was cited for violation of conditions of release into Caledonia Superior Court with an arraignment date of January 23, 2023 at 0830 hours.

On November 6, 2022 at about 0046 hours, a St. Johnsbury Police Department patrol officer observed a motor vehicle violation on Memorial Drive. The vehicle was stopped on Railroad Street in the Walgreens parking lot. Contact was made with the operator, Robert Guest, Jr, who was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under lifetime suspension due to past DUI actions. Guest subsequently took leg bail off into the brushy area between the railroad tracks behind Railroad Street and St. Mary’s Street. An exhaustive search of the surrounding area was made with the support of the Vermont State Police. Guest was later contacted via telephone and he turned himself into the police station on the afternoon of November 6, 2022. Guest will face arraignment in this matter on January 23, 2023 at 0830 hours in Caledonia Superior Court. Guest’s vehicle was hauled away by McKay’s Towing of Lunenberg, VT.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Following a shooting o October 20, 2022 at 72 Maple Street, the St Johnsbury Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of Heather Smith, 44 of St. Johnsbury. During the search warrant 260 bags of Fentanyl were recovered along with more than 2 ounces of marijuana. At that time, Smith was on release with conditions to not possess or use regulated drugs without a prescription. Following a motor vehicle stop on Saturday, November 5, 2022, Smith was taken into custody for the charges of Fentanyl Trafficking, Possession of more than 2 ounces of Marijuana and for violation of her conditions of release. Smith was lodged on 1000 dollars bail at the Northeast correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury and will appear on November 7, 2022 at 1230 hours to be arraigned on those charges.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 11/02/2022, I received a report of two individuals in the parking lot of Quality Mitsubishi going through vehicles. Later it was reported they were stealing Catalytic Converters. Upon arrival, two males took off running. I located them in a vehicle on McGill Avenue. After investigation, and finding 3 catalytic converters in the truck, Gary Bolton and another (juvenile) were arrested on the previous charges. Bolton admitted to taking catalytic converters from the park and ride in Barnet.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 11/01/2022, Officers were dispatched to the Fairbanks Inn for a report of Asia Goldsmith, striking her 11 y.o step-daughter in the face. After investigation, goldsmith was arrested for Domestic Assault and Cruelty to a Child after striking said step-daughter in the nose, causing pain, and a bloody nose. VIOLATION: Report of Shots fired at a dwelling

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: ON October 31, 2022, The St Johnsbury Police Department responded to 57 Harrison Avenue after a call reporting someone had shot at a residence there. The complainant, Vera Langmaid, 42 of St Johnsbury reported her apartment building being shot at. Officers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation at that time as well as the following morning on November 1, 2022. No one was injured as a result of the reported activity. This matter is still under investigation, and at this time there does not appear to be a danger to the public at large.
