A Drug Influence Evaluation was obtained with the assistance of the Vermont State Police. Brewster was released to a sober adult. Brewster was cited into Caledonia Superior Court regarding this issue with a court date of January 9, 2023 at 0830 hours.

The operator, Jazmyn Cummings, was found to have an extraditable warrant out of Coos County, New Hampshire for 3 counts of felony possession of controlled substances. Cummings was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice and brought before the Honorable Court where she was ordered held pending extradition. On 09-13-2022 at approximately 0606 hours Lt Mark Bickford of the SJPD was working for the village of St Johnsbury, VT when he responded to the vicinity of Eastern Avenue after receiving a report of a male who was yelling and screaming in the area. Upon arrival, Lt Bickford made contact with the suspected male who later identified himself as Arnold R. Kidla III. While speaking with Kidla, DOB: 04-29-78 it was discovered that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Washington Superior Court. The warrant which had a $5000 bail imposed on it was for a Failure to Appear on an underlying Aggravated Disorderly Conduct-Fighting Etc misdemeanor charge and an Assault-Aggravated with Weapon Felony charge. Kidla III was taken into custody by Lt Bickford without incident. He was transported to the PD where his fingerprints and photographs were obtained. Once completed Kidla III was transported to CCC where he was lodged on the $5000 bail.

Lt Bickford immediately recognized the male operator as Alex Lansford from prior law enforcement encounters and believed that he was currently under criminal suspension in VT.

A subsequent record check run through DMV confirmed that Lansford, DOB: 05-06-83 was under criminal suspension in the state of Vermont for a prior DUI conviction. Lansford was later located at his home by Lt Bickford. Lansford agreed to come to the PD for processing and admitted that he was the operator of the vehicle. Lansford was fingerprinted and photographed for the offense of DLS and was later released on a citation to appear in court on 10-17-22 during which time he will answer to the charge.

Located with Deaette and/or on her person were 25 bags of suspected fentanyl and approximately half a gram of suspected crack cocaine. Also in her possession were several debit/credit cards and blank checks not belonging to her. Deaette was also cited for a case being investigated by Sgt. Cleary that occurred on 09/01/2022, when Deaette provided false information using the name of a relative to evade arrest. Deaette was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of the $2000. Bail on the Warrants.

On September 5, 2022 at about 2010 hours, a St. Johnsbury Police Department patrol officer observed a motor vehicle idling in the Family Dollar parking lot with the operator, Christopher Rivers, slumped over behind the wheel. Also found unconscious in the back seat was Gary Bolton. Rivers demonstrated signs of impairment by a substance other than alcohol and was arrested for suspicion of DUI #1 (Drugs), License Required (as he was unlicensed and had a prior conviction for driving without a license within the past 2 years) and possession of a depressant, stimulant or narcotic drug. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation was obtained with the assistance of the Vermont State Police and an evidentiary blood draw taken at the hospital. Bolton was arrested for possession of a depressant, stimulant or narcotic drug, violation of conditions of release and unlawful trespass (as he was found to have returned to the premises despite receiving a prior notice of trespass). Bolton will face arraignment in this matter on March 13, 2023 at 0830 hours and Rivers will face arraignment on December 12, 2022 at 0830 hours, both in Caledonia Superior Court.

22SJ003656 - Attempt to Locate

 


On 07/27/2022 at approximately 1700 hours, St. Johnsbury Police Officers, executed a search warrant on the apartment Christina Thompson located at 35 Washington Avenue #2 in the Town of St. Johnsbury. The purpose of the search warrant was to locate and arrest Thompson’s daughter Michelle Deaette (DOB: 01/21/1992). Deaette has outstanding warrants in Caledonia and Orleans County. She was not located at the residence and is still at large. St. Johnsbury Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Deaette. Deaette has ties to Caledonia, Orleans, and Lamoille Counties. She may also be using the name Michelle Thompson, or Michelle Taylor. She is 5’01” tall, approximately 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
