An investigation determined that Laurie Kittredge, the defendant in an Abuse Prevention Order, had violated the order by sending text messages to the plaintiff, thus committing the offense of Violation of Abuse Prevention Order. Kittredge was cited, and is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Caledonia Criminal Division on 06/25/18 at 1230 hours.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On May 27, 2018 the St Johnsbury Police were contacted about a possible Relief From Abuse order violation.  The victim reported receiving a Facebook message from a defendant in a Relief Forom Abuse order, which was prohibited by that order.  The investigation led to the arrest of Stephen Scherber, 27 of Lyndonville for violating that protection order.  Scherber is cited to appear on July 9, 2018 to answer the charge.

Summary of Incident
 
On 06-20-18 at approximately 1805 hours Sgt Mark Bickford of the St Johnsbury Police Department was conducting roving patrol in the village of St Johnsbury. While in the vicinity of Railroad Street Sgt Bickford observed an older model blue Buick being driven by a male who he recognized as the offender Benjamin Gaughan. Sgt Bickford had recently learned that Gaughan's privilege to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Vermont had been suspended criminally. Sgt Bickford conducted a MV stop with Gaughan on Federal Street and subsequently took him into custody without incident. Gaughan was later released on a citation to appear in Caledonia District Court. He was issued a civil violation for an expired inspection sticker and his vehicle was towed.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  Sgt Mark Bickford of the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to a reported dispute on North Avenue in St Johnsbury around 2134 hours.  On his arrival he spoke with a crying female who reported being assaulted by her boyfriend, Roberto Larochelle, 43 of St Johnsbury.  The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of Larochelle for 2nd Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault.  Larochelle was lodged  on $10, 000.00 bail and will appear at 1230 hours on June 21, 2018 to answer the charge.

During the investigation, Kittredge also  made direct threats to Ofc. Patenaude, thus committing the offense of aggravated Disorderly Conduct. Kittredge was cited, and is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Caledonia Criminal Division on 08/06/18 at 0830 hours.

Request for Information - Burglary

The St. Johnsbury Police Department, is seeking information about a recent burglary. Sometime between 06/06/18 and 06/10/18 a person or persons broke into the former Sewing in Vermont building located at the corner of Concord Avenue and Portland Street in St. Johnsbury. Several tools were taken during the break in.
