After approximately 50 minutes of trying to make contact with Michael Metta inside the residence, officers arrested Metta for Disorderly Conduct - Noise in the Nighttime.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On December 22nd, officers responded to a Main Street address after a report of vandalism.  The complainant advised that a pair of trees, decorated for Hanukah had been vandalized at some point on Monday evening.  The individual(s) smashed several ornaments used in the decoration of the trees during the incident.  The St Johnsbury Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed individual(s) with a baseball bat on the North end of Main Street on Monday evening, to please contact the St Johnsbury Police Department at 748-2314.

On December 2, 2020, it was learned that [EXPUNGED] was presently incarcerated at the Northeastern Regional Correctional Facility. [EXPUNGED]was located and cited for 2 counts of violations of conditions of release. Hackett was cited into Caledonia Superior Court to answer this case on January 4, 2021 at 1000 hours.

On 11/27/2020 I assisted other officers on a traffic stop. I was advised that the driver had run through the stoplight at the intersection of Portland Street and Concord Avenue and that the driver had bloodshot and watery eyes. I performed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests on Brown which showed many clues that he was impaired. A preliminary breath test showed a .200 BAC. Brown also had a warrant for his arrest from Essex County. Brown was lodged at NERCF on a $500 bail.

A St. Johnsbury Police Department officer was assisting Ofc. Guyer in an arrest by collecting witness information for the case file. One of the witnesses identified herself as Valerie Gilmore (31). However, further investigation revealed the imposter was actually Tyler L. Ehmann (31). Ehmann was impersonating her cousin in an attempt to hide the fact she was out and about in violation of her curfew. Ehmann was arrested, brought to the police department and eventually released on citation. Ehmann was cited into Caledonia Superior Court to answer the charges of Identity Theft, Violation of Conditions of Release & False Reports to Law Enforcement. Ehmann’s court date will be January 11, 2021 @ 1000 hours. Ehmann was also directed to report to St. Johnsbury Probation & Parole on November 23, 2020 at 0900 hours.

On the above date and time, an officer on patrol was flagged down by people in a vehicle. The vehicle operator complained that a person in their vehicle was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and his behavior was not something they were willing to deal with anymore. Further investigation revealed the man, Trevor L. Coderre (26) of Barton, VT was not in compliance with conditions of release as to a court ordered residence. Coderre was brought back to the police department and issued a citation for violation of conditions of release. The court date will be January 11, 2021 at 10:00AM in Caledonia Superior Court. Coderre was then deemed to be an incapacitated person and held at the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport, VT for detoxification purposes.

The driver, Kenneth Carter (55) of Ascutney, was found to be driving while criminally suspended and operating a motor vehicle belonging to a person whose vehicle he was prohibited from coming within 300’ of due to an active Final Order for Relief from Abuse. He was arrested and brought to the police department. Further investigation revealed that Kenneth Carter had recently engaged in communications or actions towards the listed victim which both violated the relief from abuse order and [EXPUNGED]. Carter was ordered released on conditions by the Honorable Court and was flash cited into Caledonia Superior Court to answer to these charges on October 27, 2020 at 12:30pm. This case is under further investigation.

On September 30, 2020, Bassett was later located and arrested for these crimes, brought to the police department and cited into Caledonia Superior Court to answer the charges of Identity Theft & False Reports to Law Enforcement. Bassett’s court date will be December 21, 2020 @ 10am.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On September 26th and 27th, St Johnsbury Department of Public Works responded to a series of reports for missing storm drain covers and manhole covers in the town of St Johnsbury. A total of 8 covers have been discovered missing from various street locations since approximately September 19th as well as several truck battery cores missing from the town garage. At least one witness reported seeing a group of three males in a dark colored Chevrolet or GMC pickup when they were caught trying to remove a storm drain cover that was eventually stolen from the Lawrence Circle area of the village. No registration was provided for the suspect vehicle. Residents are asked if they see or hear similar activity to please contact the St Johnsbury Police at 748-2314 if they are inside the village or the Vermont State Police at 748-3111 for residents outside of the village.

However, further investigation revealed she ([EXPUNGED]) was an imposter who used another persons identity to hide the fact she was driving without a license. The vehicle was searched and a regulated drug was found. This violated the passenger, Frankie Gonzalez’s, conditions of release that he not possess a regulated drug without a prescription. Frankie Gonzalez was released from the scene on a citation for Violation of Conditions of Release, with a court date of December 14, 2020. [EXPUNGED] was arrested and brought to the police department for processing for the crimes of Identity Theft, False Reports to Law Enforcement & Driving without a license. [EXPUNGED] was released from the police department on a citation for court for December 7, 2020 @ 10:00 in Caledonia Superior Court.
