SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

The St. Johnsbury Police Department received a report of a disturbance at 475 Pearl Street. Further investigation revealed Ashley Beckwith returned to the property after being released on a citation for violating conditions of release at that location earlier. Responding officers were advised that Beckwith had assaulted a family or household member and stole their methadone, despite having active conditions of release preventing her from returning to the property, contacting or abusing/harassing that party. Beckwith was later located in the basement of the residence and arrested. Beckwith was released on a 24 hour curfew and other conditions by the Honorable Court and will face the above charges in Caledonia Superior Court on June 1, 2020 at 1230.

After investigation, Ashley Beckwith was located and arrested for 4 counts of violation of conditions of release. Beckwith will face the charges in Caledonia Superior Court on June 8, 2020 @ 0830.

A motor vehicle violation was observed on Main Street. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Cherry Street. Due to signs of narcotic impairment observed, Jennifer Williams (21) of Waterford, VT was arrested for suspicion of DUI – Drugs. An evidentiary blood draw was obtained and a DRE Exam completed with the assistance of the Vermont State Police. Williams was released on a citation into the custody of a family member and she will face the charge in Caledonia Superior Court on September 14, 2020 @ 0830.

On the above date and time, the St. Johnsbury Police Department was called to the Fairbanks Inn for a report of a disturbance wherein it was reported people were breaking doors and windows. With the assistance of the Vermont State Police, the St. Johnsbury Police Department restored order to the situation. Further investigation identified one of the parties responsible for damage to the Hotel property as Francis P. Lawler (22) of St. Johnsbury. On May 23, 2020, Lawler was located and issued a citation for the same. The St. Johnsbury Police Department believes further citation(s) in this incident will be forthcoming. Lawler  will face the charges in Caledonia Superior Court on August 24, 2020 @ 0830.

Summary of Incident:

The St. Johnsbury Police Department received a complaint from a concerned citizen of a suspicious person loitering outside 156 Pearl Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the man who gave a false name and false Connecticut address. Further investigation revealed that he was Michael J. Kelley (44) who was the subject of a Vermont arrest warrant out of Washington County and two extraditable warrants out of Grafton County, New Hampshire (Delivery of Article Prohibited or Opium or Derivative Smuggling, dating to May 2018 and Theft, dating to February 2019). Kelley was arrested and bail was set on the above charges by the Honorable Judge Michael Harris at $15,000 and $200 on the outstanding Vermont arrest warrant. Kelley was lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport.
