SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: At 0558 hours, officers of the St Johnsbury Police Department responded to an alarm activation at 1216 Railroad Street in St Johnsbury. Responding officers found the Kingdom Crust and Aquarealm had been burglarized. A brief investigation led to a foot pursuit by the responding officer and the subsequent arrest of Shawn Boyd, 51 of St Johnsbury. Boyd was charged with two counts of Burglary, two counts of Petit larceny form a building, two counts of Unlawful Mischief as well as Habitual Offender. Boyd was held on 2500 dollars bail and will appear on Monday February 28 at 1230 hours to answer the charges.

On February 26, 2022 at about 0053 hours, the St. Johnsbury Police Department received a phone call from a concerned citizen regarding a man unconscious behind the wheel of a running car at the Maplefields gas station. Officers responded and a further investigation revealed that the operator, Brian Miller, displayed signs of impairment by a substance other than alcohol. Miller was arrested for suspicion of DUI – Drugs and a Drug Recognition Expert Exam was obtained with the help of Vermont State Police and an evidentiary blood draw completed. Miller was released to a sober adult with a citation into Caledonia Superior Court on May 16, 2022 at 0830 hours.

Summary of Incident

On 02-13-2022 at approximately 1300 hours Lt Mark Bickford of the St Johnsbury PD was conducting roving patrol when he observed a male who he knew to be Nicolas Balch walking on Central Street. Lt Bickford had recently learned that Balch had an active warrant for his arrest. Lt Bickford approached Balch near the intersection of Central and Summer Street and subsequently took him into custody without incident. Balch was transported to the PD for processing. Once completed Lt Bickford transported Balch, DOB: 02-16-1980 to the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility where he was lodged on his bail of $5000 dollars. Tobyne was arrested for suspicion of DUI #1 and brought back to the St. Johnsbury Police Department where he was later released on a citation for DUI#1 into Caledonia Superior Court for FEBRUARY 14, 2022 at 0830.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: The ongoing investigation into the shooting of Robert Stamps on January 28, 2022 at a Lafayette Street residence has led to the arrest of Mark Savory, 53 of St. Johnsbury. The investigation revealed Savary’s part before and after the shooting. Savary was held on 100, 000 dollars bail and lodged at the correctional Center in Newport. Savary will appear in Caledonia Court on February 1, to answer the charges. The investigation is ongoing.

On January 31, 2022 at 0050, a St. Johnsbury Police Department Patrol officer stopped a motor vehicle as it turned from Maple Street to Main Street. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be out and about in violation of a 24 hour curfew. Further investigation revealed the passenger had earlier been inside a 300 foot radius from an address in Lyndon that he was not supposed to go to and that the occupants of the truck had taken garbage from said residence. Shawn Rich was arrested and brought back to the police department where he was later released on conditions of release and a flash citation into Caledonia Criminal Court for January 31, 2022 at 1230pm.
