SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:  On May 19 2019 at approximately 2137 hours, we received a call complaining about Robert S. Stamps Jr. out on his porch yelling and screaming at the neighborhood. Sgt. Lester Cleary and I responded and advised Stamps if it continued he would be given a citation. At approximately 0204, and 0253 hours, we received a calls complaining that Stamps was back out screaming and blowing an air horn. At that time we returned to 29 Pleasant St. and cited Robert S. Stamps Jr for Disorderly Conduct.

On May 21, 2019, St. Johnsbury Police were advised of a disturbance that occurred at the Kingdom Taproom caused by a terminated employee. During the investigation, St. Johnsbury Police learned the accused was also sending obscene and threatening internet messages regarding this matter. Teske was cited into Caledonia Superior Court on June 24, 2019 at 0830 for the above charges.

On May 16, 2019, St. Johnsbury Police stopped a female motorist on Harrison Ave, a subsequent investigation revealed the motorist gave a false identity to the investigating officer in order to deflect the investigation. Gina M. Barrette was arrested, processed and cited into court for the above charge on July 15, 2019.

Click-It or Ticket Campaign


    ST. JOHNSBURY POLICE DEPARTMENT
                                 PRESS RELEASE
                                    05/13/2018

The St. Johnsbury Police Department and other local, state and county law enforcement agencies will participating in the upcoming National Click it or Ticket Campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to make sure that all motorist on Vermont roadways are wearing their safety belts and arriving at their destinations safely. The campaign will run for fourteen days around the Memorial Day Holiday. Agencies will be conducting day and night patrols as well as safety checkpoints.
The St. Johnsbury Police Department would like to remind everyone to drive safely and wear your seatbelt to every destination.

On May 8, 2019, St. Johnsbury Police officers were dispatched to a reported assault outside of 617 Portland Street. After investigation, Ms. Rachel Stanzione (Age 37) was placed under arrest for simple assault and violating conditions of release regarding the consumption of alcohol. Stanzione was cited into court for the above charges on June 24, 2019. Subsequently, Stanzione was screened and determined to be an incapacitated person and lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility.

On 5/4/19 at approximately 2215 hours, St. Johnsbury Police Officer Steven Hartwell and Officer Nick Steller observed Jesse McGuire driving a tan Volkswagen Jetta on Concord Avenue in St. Johnsbury. McGuire was stopped at 482 Concord Avenue, where he was taken into custody for DLS and on a warrant out of Chittenden County, Vermont. McGuire had his fingerprints and photograph taken, was issued a citation for DLS, then transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex.

A company agent advised that 2 large 10’ long vintage signs were stolen from outside their building on the night of May 2nd, 2019. Investigation revealed the signage was taken by Randy Bedard of Waterford, VT. The signs were valued at $724. Bedard was processed for the violation and cited into Caledonia Superior Court, Criminal Division on June 24, 2019 at 0830.
