Summary
of Incident:
The
St. Johnsbury Police Department received a complaint from a concerned citizen
of a suspicious person loitering outside 156 Pearl Street. Upon arrival,
officers made contact with the man who gave a false name and false Connecticut
address. Further investigation revealed that he was Michael J. Kelley (44) who
was the subject of a Vermont arrest warrant out of Washington County and two
extraditable warrants out of Grafton County, New Hampshire (Delivery of Article
Prohibited or Opium or Derivative Smuggling, dating to May 2018 and Theft,
dating to February 2019). Kelley was arrested and bail was set on the above
charges by the Honorable Judge Michael Harris at $15,000 and $200 on the
outstanding Vermont arrest warrant. Kelley was lodged at the Northern State
Correctional Facility in Newport.
